Melting Reality pieces are never really directly inspired by particular music. Instead, once finished, they are given titles of music I may have been listening to at the moment, or which I think best fit, encapsulate and enrich the resulting picture.
And just like with many others, I had no pre-existing idea of creating a landscape of a doomsday post-meridiem. But after seeing what had semi-spontaneously emerged on the canvas (or rather, screen), the title was clear.
An uncertain kind of collapse, perhaps, a sense of danger and, indeed, doom… And a breakthrough album by a certain American progressive rock band.
